Description

"Stalking"

As a young teenager, this was my introduction to the greatness that is Barry Windsor-Smith.
It even inspired me to do a painted recreation of the cover in art class
(can be seen in 'My Art' gallery).

Ecstatic to add one of these rare short story pages to the collection!

Even though it featured art by Jeff Jones, John Bolton, and others - BWS was the only reason I bought this book 40 years ago. Absolutely phenomenal page. Major congrats buddy!

By 1984, I'd already had my love affair with the genius of Barry Windsor-Smith's art due to my comic shop having all the issues of Conan from 1 to 24 as well as the Savage Tales containing Red Nails. Seeing the progression and sheer growth he made in that short span of time was mindboggling. When this came out, I couldn't afford it but boy was it a feast for the eyes, especially with that beautiful cover. An absolutely stunning page, Rick!

Gorgeous Barry Windsor-Smith page! Barry's talent never fails to amaze me! He was a skilled draftsman and his pages really reflect that. He was also great with composition and often gave us layouts that were anything but standard comic book fare. And his finishes were beyond compare! Very few comic artists had his ability to ink his own work so artistically. Every line BWS laid down was a marvel. His use of crosshatching and other shading techniques was unsurpassed. This page is a stunnning example of why BArry Windsor-Smith is revered among collectors and artists alike. Great pick-up, congrats!
