Description

"In the name of Father Neptune, now does Namor the First, Prince of Atlantis, Emperor of the Deep, Lord of the Seven Seas and Supreme Commander of the undersea legions, duly proclaim for all to witness... the victory is truly mine! Let no man deny that Namor is, and ever shall be, Prince of the Blood!" - Namor

I'm not sure how any artist quite captures that tone when creating a Namor piece, but Javier Saltares certainly did when creating my latest "Iron" Throne featuring the Sub-Mariner. There's no denying the regal manor in which he's placed Namor, while creating a unique take on my theme - "Imperious Rex!"

Much thanks to Javier for this beautiful painting and to my friend Hector for putting me in touch with the man himself.

He claimed the Iron Throne and Aquaman's pants to boot! Really nice image. For those that don't remember what Aquaman looks like, I offer a favorite image.

Since Namor debuted in 1939 and Aquaman debuted 2 years later in 1941, we'll go with Namor reclaiming his pants, too! ;)
