DescriptionI think we're all familiar with the phrase 'comics will break your heart'. I think that also applies to comic art, it will also break your heart. I think it's safe to say we've all lost out on pieces we'd have loved to add to our collections. I know I have. More to the point, I've lost out on several Joelle Jones pieces over the years as there just isn't enough supply to meet demand. Collecting comic art can also break your heart in the way it is collected. To acquire this piece, I had to be available at a certain time/date in front of my computer. I had to hope for a fast internet connection. I had to essentially hit 'enter' to submit my claim bid before I saw the price tag, or got to listen to the artist talk about the art's history, or provenance. Collecting this way, in a sense, breaks my heart. I am sorry for those who missed out on this piece when it was offered. Hopefully there will be more opportunities ahead for you.Having said all that, this piece really blows me away. It's really something to see in person and I'm thrilled to add it to my collection as a great representation of Ms. Jones work. Social/Sharing |

This is an eye catching piece and probably my favorite of that show. Congrats on being the quick claimer on this one.

An art nouveau inspired masterpiece by Jones! This would break anyone heart to miss out on it. But as the saying goes, "Don't worry. Something else will come along. It always does."

I imagine this is even more beautiful to see in person. A definite standout piece and a gem in any collection.
Congratulations on being quick to the claim.
