DescriptionIn 1973 this portfolio of lithographs of Charles Keeping’s illustrations was published in 1972 in an edition of 200 by Kestrel Books in aid of Books For Your Children. It contains six loose-leaf lithographs, three from The God Beneath The Sea (Edward Blishen & Leon Garfield, Random House Children’s Books, 1970) and two from The Golden Shadow (Edward Blishen & Leon Garfield, Random House Children’s Books, 1972).Both are evocative re-tellings of Greek myths, enhanced immeasurably by Keeping’s extraordinary illustrations, which have stayed with me from when I read these as a child.
