DescriptionBeautiful early Mickey Mouse Daily by the Mouse Master, Floyd Gottfredson. This comes from the 40th Mickey Mouse continuity (YM 040) “The Miracle Master” and features Mickey & Minnie in the first week of the storyline. This is the only surviving daily from this storyline and the only surviving Gottfredson daily from 1939, that I am aware of…making this a rare treat indeed (it might also be the oldest surviving Gottfredson daily with Mickey’s “new look, which was introduced to the comic strip December 22nd 1938)…a big ‘Thank You’ to Giulio for allowing me to become its new caretaker… :-))First published September 13th 1939… I’m always looking for more Gottfredson / Mickey Mouse daily art from the 1930’s through the 1950’s, so if you have any you’d like to sell (or just to chat about - it’s always great to talk art), please don’t hesitate to contact me… Social/Sharing |
