Description

Bernie Wrightson "Freak Show" (Heavy Metal - 1982)
Bernie Wrightson, the master of the macabre, turns in one of his signature masterpiece works with "Freak Show". The series was collected and reprinted several times. Powerful, and beautiful in its grotesqueness, it was a sad tale of accepting the unacceptable. This page is produced in ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of approximately 13" x 17.5". The word balloons are all unlettered, the finished lettering was added in later during a production stage. It is signed just under the image area.

Bernie Wrightson, il maestro del macabro, realizza questo capolavoro horror "Freak Show" nel 1982, (solo un anno dopo Wrightson pubblicher� il suo famoso �Frankenstein�) pubblicato inizialmente a puntate sulla rivista Heavy Metal, la serie � stata poi raccolta e ristampata pi� volte in volume. Pagina realizzata su cartone rigido di grandi dimensioni 38 x 56 cm. con l�immagine netta di 33 x 44 cm.
Ho aggiunto delle immagini di alcuni singoli pannelli per evidenziare i dettagli e l�accuratezza con cui Wrightson realizzava i suoi lavori.

Grandissimo Wrightson! La pubblicazione in formato ridotto e a colori non rende davvero giustizia ai dettagli e alla splendida inchiostrazione. Menzione speciale per il primo e l'ultimo pannello!
