Description

1st of 2 Black Panther (BP) posts today, this one from an Iron Man annual. Picked this nice 80’s page up from Will Gabri-El at the Comic Art Con in NJ a couple of months ago.

The featured images are of BP in panels 1 and 2…Bingham’s rendition of BP is a classic one. The proportions and musculature are there while still maintaining that cartoony look. I think he really tried to give that little extra delineation with BP as the character’s costume by and large is one color with no ornamentation, at least during this time. This is the second to the last page of the issue and the heroes have just won the day. A re-animated Killmonger crumbles back to dust after being resurrected via one of the Mandarin’s rings…you don’t know that until the final page, which is actually also here on CAF. And if anyone's got a lead on the title page to this ish, let ME know!

Looking forward to seeing BP and Killmonger on the big screen in a few months! Thanks for looking, folks!

K, a superb Black Panther page! Jerry Bingham is a master draftsman, and painter, evidenced by this great page. The Black Panther movie is still a few months away but highly anticipated!

A great Bingham with an amazing Green made a classic and enjoyable piece. Love Iron Man classic armour. Claws pick!

I consider my lack of Jerry Bingham art to be a big gap in my collection. Bingham's interpretation of Black Panther is iconic in my mind, probably because Marvel Premiere #51 was an early back issue buy for me as a kid. This is an awesome page!
