DescriptionThis, of course, will speak louder to amateurs of French comics...I already had a fine page of Jean Tabary's talented skills on my walls and I had then rightfully claimed that it would be enough, even though Tabary is much more famous for his Iznogoud series than any other (See the Totoche page for aditional comments)! Yeah, right, but... A series of pages (including this one) become available... and I cannot resist! I mean, beyond the aforementioned graphic skills, this is a René Goscinny-scripted page and there is no doubt that the author of Asterix is one of the most absolute talents in comics you can think about. And his scripts always were filled to the edge with hilarious puns... By their own admission, Goscinny and Tabary used the most outrageous ones for their Iznogoud series. Oh, by the way, neither Iznogoud or any other of the main characters appears on this page... but "The Horde", one of the first Iznogoud stories (originally published in 1965), is among my all-time favourites, so... this explains that... Gorgeous Iznogoud page from the great Jean Tabary! I always enjoyed his work on Asterix so it's nice to see what else he drew. This looks to be another marvelous book. Fantastic pick-up, congratulations!
