Description

The RAF Westland Whirlwind was introduced to me as a boy in the story "Whirlwind Over Russia" illustrated by Ian Kennedy in Air Ace 283 (March, 1966) and it became one of my favourite airplanes. Ian told me that it's one of his favourites as well, so it was an obvious choice for the subject of a commissioned painting. The October, 2017 acrylic painting is 11 x 15.5 inches.
