Description

"Spy in the Sky" (May, 1967) is the one cover by Ian Kennedy that was substantially altered by the Fleetway production department. I was able to remove the repainted spy overlay and the thick layer of yellowed glue beneath it. This would have been impossible to do if the painting had been done in gouache but, luckily, Ian had started using acrylics when he painted his run of Air Ace covers beginning in February '67.

Incredibly bright with the yellow heat of the gun turrets lighting up the skies and bringing a golden glow to this cover!
