Description

Pivotal moment in the confrontation between the Man without Fear and the Purple Man. Daredevil #154 was among the first issues I read and this final showdown with Killgrave has all the beats when it comes to saving a damsel in distress from a costumed lunatic. Add flawless storytelling and execution, and you get this standalone page which conveys what makes heroes great in the heart of a kid.

Splendid Daredevil page by the legendary Gene Colan! I love Colan's work on Daredevil. Check out how he sets the mood for this showdown with the Purple Man. I love that middle scene where Daredevil's billy club knocks the gun out of Killgrave's hand. And then, in an inspired Colan move, he draws the next scene at a slant, as Daredevil is confronted by Killgrave's gang--It's such a classic Colan move, creating a feeling of unease and tension in the reader. Anyway, great page by a great artist.
