Q: | Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why? |
A: | That's a tough call, but I would have to go with Brian Bolland's Animal-Man #25 cover. It was one of the first pieces I bought back in 2002, right from Brian's closet, thanks to his rep Joe Pruett (actually, I was surprised Brian still had this cover). The piece is directly inspired by the Infinite monkey theorem, and Brian nailed it. The way the monkey looks at you through the fourth wall creates a captivating moment every time I look at it. And nobody draws a typewriter machine like Brian :) |
Q: | Please tell us a little about yourself. |
A: | I am a 50 years old quantum physics PhD turned permaculture student turned innovation researcher turned student again, this time with altered states of consciousness. I live around Paris, sharing my life with a band of brothers and a woman who brings a smile on my face every time she is around. |
Q: | How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start? |
A: | I started collecting comic art at the dawn of internet, after discovering it was actually possible to buy original artwork. As it turns out, this hobby ended up being way more expensive than collecting comics, but as some of us would say, I never looked back. |
Q: | How do you display/store your collection at home? |
A: | I store artwork inside portfolios. I also came to enjoy smartphones as a handy way to browse quickly through the collection. |
Q: | What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions? |
A: | 1. A Watchmen page. 2. DD by Frank Miller (Born Again qualifies too). 3. Jim Starlin vintage Warlock or Captain Marvel piece. 4. George Perez Avengers, FF, Marvel 2 in 1 or Crisis on Infinite Earths page. 5. Jim Lee Uncanny X-Men page. |
