DescriptionBack in the day, before cable, instead of its own channel, Disney had a Sunday night television show called "The Wonderful World of Disney." Each week they would run a different show or movie, but my favorite was a multi-part mini-series called "Dr. Syn alias the Scarecrow."As it turns out, the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh as he was also known was a favorite of a young Tim Sale as well and Mr. Sale even talked to Neil Gaiman about doing a Scarecrow comic. Unfortunately, nothing ever came of it. Social/Sharing |

When I was a kid I used to love when Scarecrow would come on Disney on Sunday nights. I can hear the theme song in my head right now. Great piece by Sale, really captures the spooky feeling of the show.

I remember those episodes as well, and though they didn't make quite the same impression on me, I remember getting a kick when the good Dr. made a cameo appearance in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Here's hoping Mr. Sale takes a crack at this some day.
