Jetfire, Bumblebee, Defensor and Jazz by Joel Carroll

Here we are again with another group of Autobots drawn by Joel Carroll in both their toy form and in their comic/animated form! First off, we have Jetfire, or Skyfire, as he was known in the cartoon. Jetfire was perhaps the coolest-looking Transformer toy, but of course the comic and animated version looked much different, due to reasons. I remember the first time I saw some Robotech toys and wondering why they looked like smaller Jetfires. Anyway, no matter what he was based on, the Jetfire figure looked amazing and was always one of my favorites. Next up is Bumblebee, who was my very first Transformer! Bumblebee will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm glad that he got to have prominent roles in many G1 stories. Then we have Defensor, who was the first Autobot Combiner I got, though it took a couple months of buying each individual robot. I went after the Protectobots instead of the Aerialbots because they were different types of vehicles, instead of just aircraft. And finally there's Jazz, who I never owned but always wanted. I loved Jazz's look, especially the cool eye visor he had. And he was such a cool character in the cartoon. So Joel once again did a spectacular job of depicting both versions of each Transformer here. The attention to detail in the toy versions is fantastic. Just look at the doors on Jazz's shoulders, the square piece behind Bumblebee's face, and all the little elements to Jetfire and Defensor's figures. And the comic/animated versions are on-point, as well. I love Bumblebee's attitude and how Joel made sure to color Defensor's blue body differently. Anyway, yes Joel is once again amazing and everyone should go give him some money to draw for them!
