Description

I love Matt "BATT" Manning inks, from his days at Top Cow to the present, and I always wanted something done by him. Not many things organically came my way until one day when I had the thought to have Matt ink this unpublished cover I had purchased years before by Philip Tan. Fast forward to SDCC 2019, I met Batt and asked if he'd like to ink it? He immediately said that he would love to ink over Philip's pencils. I waited about a year and pulled the trigger. I couldn't be happier with the work he did and am blown away by the depths of the black ink. Tan's pencils were already so tight, but Matt had a lot of areas where he needed to embellish or interpret. It's great to see the collaboration between two great artists! It's the perfect blend of them both.

Great job! The Nineties kid in me would have been blown away to think that Batt would ever personally ink something for me.

Pencils and Inks are on the same board. I asked BATT to ink directly on top.
