Description("Lex Luthor Fights for GOOD!")This is the Original Art for the Cover of ACTION COMICS #511 (Sept. 1980); featuring Superman and a reformed Lex Luthor battling Terra-Man and an evil alien outside the Fortress of Solitude! This Cover was drawn by the early '80s "dream team" - Ross Andru (1927 - 1993) and Dick Giordano (1932 - 2010). In this issue Lex Luthor goes into "do-gooder overdrive" and repairs the hole in the ozone layer and also deactivates all Nuclear Weapons on Earth (anticipating the plot of SUPERMAN IV: The Quest for Peace by 7 years). NOTE: The additional images features five(!) very cool Foreign Variants (all of which deleted the Air Wave inset). (Not-so-trivial!) TRIVIA: This was the first $.50 Cent issue of Action Comics! A great time period as the Superman sequel was coming at the end of the year and there was hype attached to the flagship character of all comics. This Andru / Giordano cover was definitely designed to be a crowd pleaser and rock the status quo with the team up.

Wow, what a great cover! Always loved the Andru/ Giordano pairing as they made a great art team, especially on covers. Congrats on a a "super" acquisition!
