Description

I was thrilled to pickup this page recently from Michael Lovitz via the Amateur Dueling Dealers show. While the page says #140 on it, issue #140 was a Sal Buscema fill-in, so this was almost certainly intended for #141.

This page shows Daredevil confronting Maxwell Glenn, his girlfriend Heather's father, in a scene that never appeared in the comics. Most likely they decided to change the story after this page was penciled. This ties into a storyline where Maxwell Glenn commits crimes under the control of Killgrave, the Purple Man. Matt/Daredevil eventually proves his innocence, but Glenn commits suicide in prison before he can be exonerated. I have a dramatic page from that storyline which is also posted in this gallery.

On a lighter note, Kerry Callen saw my post on Facebook and created a great inked and colored version with some funny dialogue. Thanks to Kerry for letting me use the image here.

Daredevil's sense of smell is incredible. Kane is the perfect choice with his sense of anatomy and nostrils.

Finally! The lost and long rumored sushi chronicles are beginning to be unearthed. This page is a great look into Gil Kane storytelling pencils and the finished page is so good. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

What If Daredevil Turned to a Life of Crime...For Sushi. I'm pretty sure that's the premier episode of season 2 of What If. Someone overheard Kevin Feige talking about it at Baskin Robbins last night. Totally legit. Lucky you finding such great bronze age Kane DD pencils! They are awesome. Especially love the action in those last panels, when they defend their sushi. ;) Great score. Congrats!

Its always lovely to see artists pencils without the work of the inker. Its amazing what different inkers can do to an artists work. Some improve it. Others disimprove it. Thanks for sharing this treasure.
