DescriptionThis stunning piece " Valkyrie" (Valchiria) is a color commission realized some yers ago by Mike Deodato (Pen and Inks) and watercolors by Dave Gutierrez. This commission has been very famous and successful and has been used in many ways, the " ink only " version has been included by Deodato himself in his personal collection: " The art of Mike Deodato", and a scan of this awesome commission has been digitally colored by Rayn Beredo and used by Marvel for promotional posters and as limited variant cover for "Secret Avangers" #3 (2010). Valkirye in the marvel universe is a warrior goddess at the service of Odin father of all gods and sovereign of Asgard,according to Norse mythology the Valkyries were the divine female figures that compaign the fallen warriors into the Valhalla realm. Valkyrie is frequently appeared in the Thor serie and in the past has been member of the Defenders team and sometimes she has appeared in the Avengers. This commission (10 x 17 inches) is realized by the brazilian superstar Mike Deodato by his incredible pencils and inks and watercolors by Dave Gutierrez. Deodato has probably been one of the most iconic and renowned artist of the house of ideas in the last twenty years because of his mastery in anatomy and his capacity at drawing powerful, heavy muscled and sensual male and female heroes by his strong, firm and plastic line. Beautiful work by Dave Gutierrez as colorist,personally I prefer much more this type of coloration that people may define "classic" or "vintage" respect the modern digital colorations .Social/Sharing |

Proud, muscular and quite menacing, but still very sexy! Just like a real valkyrie is supposed to be :)
