Description

Always have loved Mike's work - very dynamic and full of energy. The fluid line work and story telling is beautiful.

So Anthony was selling this piece and a couple others and I wondered at the origin of the sketch, so prior to paying for it I asked Mike via text/messenger and he confirmed a very early sketch he had done when he was much younger.

I took a shot and asked about commissions and he stated at 84 he has put down the pencils and inks.

It is on tracing paper and has yellowed a little but just a captivating image.

Nice example of the Ploog line and a great starting point for us to reference as how his art has evolved.

An OUTSTANDING example by one of comics true greats! I always wanted another commission but it just never lined up. Just a fascinating guy and a kind, gentle soul.
