Really nice with the mysterious her and the femme fatale!  This is a more adult precode comic and didn't mind showing off lady parts meant to titilate!

It is ok to be sorry - you keep outbidding me on these cool strips!

I always thought that Guice  would have been one of the great newspaper strip artists had he had his career during the 50s.  A tremendous detail man with absolute understanding of spotting blacks in line art, Guice is one of a few modern artists whose work looks better in black and white versus being computer colored.

The story saw print in Alien Worlds #2. But Dave didn't draw it for Pacific, he was reusing this old story he did in the 70's. It was a revised version, with many of the faces reinked (especially hers), a new script, and new professional coloring. 

In your wife's defence and I love the series by the way. Watching monkeys is always better with a few glasses of wine on board.

I know it's hard for Hex fans to hear, but there's no need to blame political correctness when they pushed a movie with James Brolin and Megan Fox, they had long comics run with top creators (Bernet, Palmiotti, Cooke), he appeared in CW Arrowverse Legends of Tomorrow, and was part of the DC animated universe in Justice League Unlimited.  The longest gap between Hex's own title was from 1987 and 2006 and that was long before political correctness.  With 180 comics of his own title, you don't think he's had more run than any other western hero?

Beautiful bird's eye view of a crime scene in the study as Sherlock pieces together the possibilities and Watson is still busy analyzing the scene. I had this page at my desk at work for a while back when I was a detective. 

Rare Mr. Ed apperance!  The Moder and Boyd action shows off their ability to have cartooning in their action scenes and comedic timing in panel cuts.

Congrats Jim.  This is a nicely done page by Lou Fine.  The everday life scene is exemplified by his ability to draw clothing and hair.  Such great detail.  Congrats!

It's actually the classic pairing of Starlin and Milgrom (Jim and I signed Gemini on their covers) back in the day on Warlock.  It's about 20 years after that time period, but cosmic stuff by these two together is a big selling point to many just for the names alone.

The comic did not.  It had a screen tone over the parts that are done on the overlay, but it was fully colored.

Yes, gorgeous colors. Ziuko and all the colorists in the pre-computer era used Dr. Martin's Dyes. 

this is definitely not Matt Baker art. This was drawn by someone else, and by the style looks alot like John Thornton is the artist. You can called me Baker man. I have lots of Baker OA pgs in my collection from different eras. and this art style looks alot like John Thornton style after taking over Baker on Flamingo comic strip. Several John Thornton flamingo strips examples are very identical in style. John Thornton mimic Baker girl art. 

This pages are drawn way after Baker left the Iger-Shop late1948.

I don't remember Baker doing any work for Superior - this may be John Thornton who continued Flamingo or anothe Iger shop artist.

So clever, working the credits into the crossword puzzle. Congrats!

Fun page. I personally think that Ploog is his own best inker though.

It's page 5 from Crossfire #22. Congrats on this pickup. Spiegle is a masterful yet underrated artist and Crossfire was clearly a labor of love.

Great storytelling throughout the page. Love the bottom half with open border panel and 2 inserts. Great flow and some awesome shots of Batman. It is also real fun to see Risso use inkwash and white paint. Great pick-up!

No matter who touched it, it's a great Silverage page.

These strips made me a daydream believer at first, but as you said Wayne Boring's artwork wins you over with a classically handsome protagonist that doesn't monkey around. 

Doug is IMO, the best recreation artist ever.

Such great design. McWilliams is such a great artist. 

It's from GI Combat 283 and the Missles of Mars part 3 "Death of a Robot"  featuring the Mecenaries! 

The work by Forrest is legendary!  It is a work of history as the subject represents the passions of the nation during that era.  The artistry itself presented the planes and vehichles in all it's illustrated glory and the fantasy adventure style of the times.

Each page has their strengths.  i tend to like this one better because it has the establishing shot of the space capsule and more sci-fi effects with the shadow work on the space suits.  The reaction shots are also impressive on the last panel.

The title page of the comic says Illustrated by Dick Ayers and Tony DeZuniga.  Hex has had many appearances already in his own movie and on TV in Legends of Tomorrow.  He even came back in comics as a zombie in Blackest Night.  Not sure how much more they can try to strap a rocket to a western character when they've tried to make him a thing so many times. 

We probably have Sidney Poitier to thank for that in his role of Virgil Tibbs in the movie "In the Heat of the Night". McWilliams gives each character their spotlight and connects them in this interior space.  

That's a nice moody page, with some fabulous storytelling. Subby or not, all that Everett goodness would grace many a fine collection.

Fantastic Cruz page! The detail in those rich inks is superb, and I love the way he (and Rico Rival for that matter) used white areas almost as shadow - as on the lower leg of a character in the top panel. Great contrast.

Nice strip!  I just want to clarify that Raduta was the writer, not the inker.  Bolle did all of the art.

There are more pages with Subby than Tamara - the page I selected from this issue is no Subby and all Tamara - your page has some nice blackwater in it as well!
