Hey hey as an Orioles fan more like Henderson and Ruthschman
Not above selling it - if you are sincere make an offer and we can talk.
Jim
LOL - yeah it is all good, If next one comes up and you want it let me know I can stand down. I have one more to post on CAF, I have a decent collection now and can not bid on them, This last 3 I picked up are perfection.
Anthony,
Thanks for the history on this color work. One of the great things about posting on CAF are orher members who often have great background information on art.
Jim
Marcus,
Perhaps it was after the height of PC times, but I feel like DC pulled the Jonah Hex Omnibus back and never did an Omni run for the Palmiotto run due to Hex's association with the Confederacy. Didio was no longer running it and we had a different set of eyes on it. This was at the same time where DC starting heavily trying to build a younger more diverse younger audience. You are right it was the longest running Western and had a lot of great incarnations.
I hope DC and Marvel can survive as print comics as I know myself and others of my age bracket have long abandoned most current comics. I just long for the Captian Comet Archive that never was and other collections.
BUT what do you think of the art?
That's cool, was an appropriate page to have for that line of work.
I picked up the trades and will start reading it soon
No I get it - Milgrom's inks on Starlin worked - but feel like his art was never a draw and his inking IMO did not match well with some other artists
Now I have to buy the trade - Thanks for your opinion
Phenomal piece, absolutely stunning and truly one of the best if not the best Everett work ever. The two characters I have always associated with Bill's work. My kids are too old to trade for this - lol
And those dyes keep this cover as bright and vibrant as it was when first done. Think I need to frame and do UV glass.
Did not realize Val did a Jonah Hex issue - I need to find a Hex page to get from him. Nice page
There is a lot of back story to this page that I got from Burkey that says it maybe Baker work. In the days of the Studios it is hard to separate who did what at times. It is why I say Matt Baker? If I ever decide to sell I would not authenticate it by being by Matt. Thanks for your comment.
Got a lot of information from Mike Burkey about story being sold etc. There are those who say it is and those who say it isn't. Would have cost at least twice as much if people were 100% sure. Thunder agent pages credits are not always clean. Still a great romance page.
Thanks - poked around your collection - fantastic collection - 5 Wrightson Swamp Thing pages - amazing.
A stunning collection - congratulations
I agree, but Frank was second best as others I think often hurt Ploog's art.
Alex,
Yeah I had not seen ink wash work by Risso before. How are you doing?
Jim
LOL - Hey hey love the references - some people say I monkey around. I'm too busy buying art to put anybody down.
He is a great artist. Between Twin Earths and Dateline Danger I have been lucky to pick up a decent amount of his work. The collected editions of Twin Earth dalies and Sundays are enjoyable as well
It really is both a great piece of art and a snapshot of the times it is from
Well NFS can always be modified for many pieces. As my send Bo's grandkids to college fund is evident by my collection of Bo's great work
Neither is a bad page, I just accidentily ended up with both
Thanks and true but the actual comic will likely not be collected anymore and the later series is not looking good to be collected as the Confederate tie in is something DC appears to want to not have in their books at this time. And the movie was horrible
An article I read said I Spy was the inspiration. Still cool stuff
Thanks - I'm very happy with the page and love having an Everette page in my collection
Damn - I finally got an Everett page and your collection is amazing with his work. Thanks for information correct as well.
