Bronze Age Steve Ditko - Starman Origin Battle Page from 1979

Frpm Romitaman's website where I got this page.

Check out this very nice BRONZE AGE 1979 DC Super Hero action page, which was penciled by the great Steve Ditko, and inked by the great Romeo Tanghal, from the story titled: "To Die A-Borning..." This nice page features Starman recounting how Mn'Torr taught him to use his powers and watches as his sister Clryssa is crowned Empress!

Truly a grail piece for me. Huge Ditko fan and slowly I have been increasing my price point and when this popped up and I worked out time payments feels like a dream come true. Dikto shines on this page and the inker did not ruin the pencils by making it his art. Romeo did a great inking job letting the art still be Ditko. Now to win a $50 million power ball and get a Silver Age Ditko page.

Wonderful mix of the monster and superhero genres for Ditko who was right there to make the transition of monster books of Atlas to the Superhero Age of Marvel. This nice stint of DC let his imagination go wild with plenty of nice action panels that benefitted from his classic artistry.

Great page from an often overlooked masterpiece.

These Starman stories really need to be reprinted.
