Description

This is a page that I wasn't really looking for but ran across it while scrolling through Anthony's Comic Book Art website. I have a love for old time Science Fiction work and have always been a Murphy Anderson fan. The final enticement the book was published in the year 1955 which was the year I was born. Oversized art is another bonus.

All in all a great page from the story the Invisible Spaceman

Two greats of the artform! Anderson's art has so much substance behind each character's face and gestures that Giella brings out with a splendid line. Even without fancy costumes nor space travel, this page brings with it a golden age charm that made kids believe in all this pseudo science of the imagination just to give them a sense of wonder.

This really is a charming and nostalgic page. It could have been a retelling of a Twilight Zone story. Everything about it screams 1950s from the smoking to the hair styles, the furniture. Even the arcitecture. Very much a time capsule piece. Nice pickup!
