Latest arrival, from artist Craig Cermak, who I think has done an amazing job here.

This is the first of the occasional 'Altered Egos' one-shots in which Jonathan (Tarantula) Law records either the origin or an early tale of one of his fellow heroes - in this case, Terry (Mr Terrific) Sloane recounts how, in an early case, reports that urban vigilantes the Batman, the Sandman and the Crimson had turned to overt criminal activities made him seek them out to bring them to justice. Confronting each in turn, he was unable to capture them --- but after analysing the residue from Sandman's gas gun, realising that the Crimson's accent was not the same as that which had been recorded by earlier radio reports, and recognising that The Batman was using a very different fighting style to that seen on newsreel footage, Sloane determines that the 'heroes' are impostors.

Teaming with Sandman and the Crimson Avenger - and with some covert assistance from Batman - the impostors are defeated and revealed as acrobatic early Batman foes The Three Devils (from Detective Comics #50).
