Description

New commission: All-Star Squadron #104, art by Stephen Baskerville, based as always on the cover of a comic written, plotted or scripted by Roy Thomas, in this case Infinity Inc #47, original art by Vince Argondezzi.
Title: "For Whom the Bell Tolls!"
Story: the Monster Society Of Evil continue their battle with the All-Star Squadron! Batman, Robin and Liberty Belle are ambushed at the Perisphere by Mr Mind (who uses paralysing rays from his Mindtripper to incapacitate the Dynamic Duo) and Nyola, who defeats Belle after a titanic battle.

Elsewhere in this issue, Oom and Mr Who team up to batter Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Jr into submission; Ramulus uses his animated plants to subdue the Star-Spangled Kid and Stripesy; the Dummy is victorious in his battle with the Sandman and Sandy, and the Buzzard overcomes Mr Terrific.

The Monster Society will continue their assault on the All-Stars--- next issue!

I think Stephen did a fantastic job on this, and I was delighted to be able to use the Mindtripper to (sort-of) fill the place of the Harlequin's mandolin. Also, in the 40th issue of the Continuation Project, Robin The Boy Wonder finally gets a slot on a cover (the kid sidekicks can be a pain to squeeze in).
