"War of the Ghost Generals!" by Robert Kanigher.

"Part 1: End of a Battle Star!"

The Civil War ghosts Generals J.E.B. Stuart and William Tecumseh Sherman vie for control of the Haunted Tank during the bloody slog in the Normandy hedge rows after D-Day. The Haunted Tank is a Sherman tank named after the Union general. Its commander is a descendant of Confederate General Stuart.

I've not read much Haunted Tank material but have been fascinated by tanks since childhood, so seeing comic art with tanks on them is always a bit of a thrill for me!

Awesome tank battle splash! Ayers and Glanzman set up the situation and the tension immediately. Better get out of the crossfire as things get hot real fast!
