This had to be the Aparo page for me!

Our copy of B&B 114 had been read to death and had long ago lost its cover and some of the lead in pages. This page, the title page for Part 2: The Deadly Wine had been taped back on the issue years back, and had become the de facto cover for the issue. In fact, the cover had been lost so long ago, I had no idea what issue it actually was or what its cover even looked like. So again, whenever I see this issue, this page IS the cover.

Also, I�ve never understood the "Aquaman's the lame one" sentiment. My older brother and I had seen Aquaman before, but this issue was my real introduction, and by the time he rips Batman�s diving regulator off in panel 2, Aquaman is downright scary! Just look at Batman�s shear terror in that panel, and then try and convince me Aquaman�s the lame one!

Superb page from a memorable story by this awesome classic artist (who also inked and lettered all his 1960-80s pages himself) and yeah, his 2 Aquaman rund were from the best of that DC period.

Truly superb! This is every bit as good as Aparo's classic Spectre pages from Adventure Comics. A killer of an opening panel!
