DescriptionI’m a huge Galactus fan. ( and Galactus’s Heralds fan) This is a stunningly detailed and well crafted image and setting by Byrne. It’s from one of the rare twice up sized art issues that he did on the FF run. I only realized once I saw the piece in person how much this double sizedness does for the visual impact of the piece. This also is a memorable issue and storyline for me and many others that we see this more almost human side of Galactus who faces his sense or mortality and well compassion and feelings about destroying the lives and planets he consumes to remain in existence. He has a classic conversations with death in the issue..and then to go from that to his lovely herald going ok big G..let’s go eat us some Skrulls! A huge moment in the marvel universe itself which is the first time we see Galactus consume the home world to a species that is a major player in the marvel universe. A big thanks to Alberto for passing on this piece to me knowing its deeply appreciated by me. It is one of the great things about CAF that we share the same passions and how collectors move things between one another and we get to know that whom we move it to has the same kind of passion for an artist, character, or a piece. That adds an extra satisfaction in that sharing I feel. I love that we get the full bodied, beautiful, and cosmically nude Nova in the panels also..the image of her body burning through space is so cool to me.. The last word bubble has a correction made to it and I’m showing this image without the corrected overlay to show what was going on underneath and also so we don’t obscure Nova’s cosmic breasts blazing through space. I always love the comments and connections. Social/Sharing |

Nice addition to your collection! This page is my 'one that got away' from 2018 - life just conspired against me earlier in the year, and that was that. I'm glad it found a good home.
I'll find out what those FF #257 inks look like in person some day. :D

Hey Jason, thanks man..and well I know what it feels like I think we each have a story of something we wanted but for some reason or another it simply wasn’t to be...and then all of a sudden a flow of things will come ur way..so I wish that for u in ur own collecting. It’s fun to see how and where people connect with the same piece and those stories.so thx for sharing that..and maybe you will see it in person at some point. It def has a different impact in person.

They're a little blurry! But the pages look great regardless. :)

Thanks K!
indeed Byrne seems to have his signature on Galactus ...Yea that top panel really is wowing it I agree, it’s what drew me in so much.....the best part of connecting here on CAF is the level that people share passions and appreciation for the characters and artwork. That’s the gift ontop of pleasing images of a full bodied Nova :O....

Superb, outstanding page! Yeah - imagining what this would look like in twice-up size is humbling to say the least... :) Serious congratulations, and thanks for posting it so we all get to enjoy it as well. :)

Great page. Simply amazing. I know your a big Galactus fan, but I think Nova is stealing the spotlight here. I love how John draws certain characters. He draws Galactus the best in my opinion. And Nova is definitely a favorite of mine. Congratulation on a great page!
