Description

A Bruce McCorkindale re-creation of Roy G. Krenkel art from THE WIZARD OF VENUS. Pen, brush and ink on 13 X 20" bristol board. Bruce commented "Roy's work is beautiful but tricky to replicate. It's definitely not a style that comes naturally to me, but I enjoyed trying to capture it. While working, I always think 'Man, this is a lot of work.' After I put down the last line, I think, 'Man, that was a lot of fun!'"

Well done recreation. I imagine it is a lot more work to recreate as the lines flowed naturally as roy did them but bruce needs to be monastic in his ink work. Despite the discipline I don't think the piece really lost the flow and energy Krenkel injected into the original.
