Description

A beautiful painting from Ian Daniel's Faerie Enchanter's Grimoire book. The male figure in the painting is her husband Llyr - he is of the family of Gods of the sea and darkness in Celtic myth, while she is of the Gods of Light - their marriage unites the forces darkness and light - night and day. This uniting of warring families is reminiscent of a Romeo/Juliet theme. Ian has written up some symbolism to the story in his Faerie Grimoire (see Penarddun in the list of Deities in the second half of the book)

I gave Ian a top ten want list of paintings and he still had two of them, though he didn't really want to sell them at first I talked him into it. This was one of them, so it is definitely one of my favorites :)
