Description

Amazing rendition of Kal-El's parents sending him away from Krypton's destruction by the great Jerry Ordway, based on a panel by Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson from the origin story in The Amazing World of Superman. This sketch was illustrated on the blank end pages of Superman: The Man of Tomorrow Archives Vol. 1.

The sentiment is tragic and inspiring as an immigrant story sending your child off to a foreign land as a final sacrifice so your child can carry on your lineage and make something of themselves.
