DescriptionJim Lee was the center of my comic universe growing up. When I saw Scott and Jim upload this piece on IG, I thought it may just be the finest single piece I've ever seen by the duo. The thought never crossed my mind that it would be available at any point. When it popped up on Albert's site, there was no hesitation.I will update the scan later but the detail and effort that was put into this cover is amazing. I'm proud to own this fantastic example from this legendary team. This is probably the only piece I currently have that I forsee never giving up. Meant for the cover of the, now cancelled, Batman Hush Saga Omnibus, the pencils underneath are the current cover to Batman Hush Unwrapped. Maybe DC will find another opportunity to use the inked piece on a cover somewhere. Update 09/01/2019 Looks like this piece is getting published after all after the cancellation of the Hush Omnibus. It is being used as the cover for the DC Dollar Comics reprint of Batman #608 as well as the Hush New Edition TPB. Update 11/14/2023 And this piece finally got printed as the Batman Hush Saga Omnibus cover. After a cancellation of the book during COVID, DC finally decided to collect the entire saga with the Jim Lee/Jeph Loeb series and the Paul Dini Hush stories in a giant omnibus. So it's been published in a few books now and rightfully so, as it's an amazing image. Update 08/2024 Glad to see DC getting some good mileage out of this piece. It is now being used for the cover to DC's mass market paperback version of the Hush storyline, DC Compact Comics. Basically small regular book-sized paperbacks for the bookstores. Social/Sharing |

I seriously considered this piece the moment it appeared on Alberts site but there were three lesser pieces (lesser in terms of price) that I could pick up for roughly the same amount. It was very difficult not to pull the trigger on this and there is definitely some lingering regret. So congratulations to you for not hesitating and adding this wonderful piece to your collection. I feel like it’s an iconic image right out of the gate.
I've thought the same about some of those recent Lee covers but not so on this one. Was more than worth it to me.

I was going to say "I'm surprised Scott sold this!". You really hit this one out of the park Scott! Reminiscent of your Bolland Sgt. Rock piece. Congrats on an amazing piece Jason!

Hot damn! The raw and unrelenting nature of this story and these two opponents is magically summed up right here in this piece. Lee and Williams shit it down every time! Congrats.
