DescriptionOf all the commissions I’ve ever received, I can't say I've been happier than to receive this one. In fact, I hesitated to post on CAF because I felt each page of the triptych deserved its own showcase. So, they’re each going to have their own page! The center piece!!! Forever imprinted on my mind as the first appearance of a character that spoke deeply to me, this number one issue was one of those books that I purchased multiple copies of—not for any speculative reasoning, but purely because I loved the cover so much. Knowing that the original art of this cover may be out of reach for me, I can’t say I’m not as happy to have this version by my friend Manix. A solid recreation, yet true to his own style and technique like a pro! This perfectly captures the spirit of owning the original for me and will stand the test of time as a framed piece on my wall. An ambitious undertaking and Manix shows once again why he's a master illustrator that's not to be underestimated because of the cartoony style.

These must truly be a sight to behold in person! Manix's energy and unique vision are a perfect fit for such an iconic recreation. Congrats Carl!

Wow! What a jawdroppingly cool triptych by Manix! These three covers are absolutety stunning to see. Somehow, Manix has caught the mood of the times--the zeitgeist if you like. His takes on classic characters and classic covers are everywhere. There's something about his drawings that tickles almost everyone. Maybe it's his drawing, maybe it's his bold use of color, maybe both, but Manix has really caught everybody's fancy. He's kind of like the Hembeck of a new generation. These three pieces are fantastic examples of Manix magic!
