Page 19 of NEW MUTANTS (2009) #30 blue-pencilled and inked by DAVID LAFUENTE
A4 size (8.3in x 11.7in)

The Green Room is now Lafuente's art dealer. In a recente drop, I've contacted Ic�ar to know if David had more art available, especially if it featured Magik. She promptly sent me several options and I fell in love with this very dynamic page of Dani Moonstar fighting hordes of demons in Limbo(?).
At first, the page "reads" as being a bit overwhelming, with lots of information, but at a closer look, it's actually an ingenious condensation of what could be a bunch of messy panels, into a coherent sequence of action. The sword guides our look into the top left corner of the page where Dani is the focus of the action. She then gets distracted, has her helmet knocked off and ends being swallowed whole while shouting a final defiance to her enemies. 4 tight action beats in a panelless (is this a word?) page that few artists could make work as well as David did here. A tight page as only David can make.
