DescriptionEarly in my original comic art collecting career (2010-2011), I remember looking through all my Amazing Spider-Man comic books and picking out issues that I would LOVE to own the covers to. A lot of them were Mark Bagley covers, as he was the artist who took over the title shortly after I got back into reading comics in the early '90s.I picked out the top five Bagley covers I would (reasonably) like to own some day. I mean, I would love the cover to issue #361 (1st Carnage), but I was trying to be realistic. Two of my top five Bagley covers were owned by my buddy Dan Gallo (#382 and #403), so I snatched them up. Then more recently I acquired the cover to issue #369 (Thank you, Stanton!). THEN, another really good friend of mine (you know who you are) managed to snag the cover to #397, which featured the very 1st appearance of one my favorite ever Spidey villains, STUNNER! My friend knew I would LOVE to own this cover, so we worked out a deal, and it is now in my collection. Other than Carnage, I think the character of Stunner was one of Mark Bagley's greatest contributions to the Spidey-verse, so I am very happy to share this piece with everyone. Enjoy! Social/Sharing |

Any ASM cover is an achievement but doubly so when it's such a notable artist like Bagley. Bravo

Hard to believe anything can be undervalued in this market but Bagley ASM covers would certainly be in the conversation. You are way ahead of the curve pal.

Can't beat a Bagley ASM cover but I know this is a special one for you, Paul, being such a big fan of Stunner...and you can't have a better piece than this one! Sincere congrats!

This is a beautiful piece. Bagley drew Stunner SAF, and I love Dock Ock's arms coming into the picture. Great stuff!

DUDE!!!!! All I can say is WOW. I feel like I’m 8 or 9 again looking at this cover. I was more of a dc guy but I loved Mark on Spider-Man. I prefer him to Romita Jr. I thought he was up there with Romita sr.

Well I’m jealous! And I know how hard it is to track these down and convince the owner to sell— congratulations are certainly in order!! (PS- I’ll keep a space open if you ever decide to move on to another character...no pressure, no pressure)

Unbelievable cover, Amigo! What an entrance Bagley gave this character...can't imagine a more iconic way to enter the MCU than the spotlight of an ASM cover, manhandling da main man. Beautifully rendered and payed out page by one of, if not thee, greatest artist to work on the title.
