DescriptionSo this one I’m blaming on my buddy Matt… Matt is the art rep for Simone Bianchi .. and because we are buddies I kept seeing Simone’s art over and over again… and even though it’s more modern then my usual tastes I kind of really dig what he does. I know most people faun over his full color paintings , but I saw this piece at auction and just thought it was perfect for my collection. A panel page from an Xforce issue featuring Psylocke and Fantomex obviously fit well with what I do… but even beyond that I just thought this page represents so much of the talents Bianchi has… from the hatching and shading… to the extremely unique panel structure .. with the breaks to the panels, the backgrounds and the subtle touch of color all magnificent. But surprisingly what I like best about the page.. is the none X character… mister falling off a building guy, the expression in the first panel and the small touches like the shoe falling off and the tie cutting into the next panel and the close up of that expression down to the tiny red added to the bloodshot of his eyes. So much on this one page to love .Just look at the published page in the additional images… so much was lost after coloring… this book should have been printed the way Bianchi left it! I remember this three comic mini series...uncanny xforce rocks. Love the popping lipstick on Psylocke

It's got Snokel's catch phrase "For the Greater Good" If you Simone, know of the innovative layouts with the classical Italian artistry.

Great write up, Jason, and I'm totally with you: Simone's interior page work gives us a great opportunity to see an angle not shown in his (also awesome) painted covers. His hatching and the lighting effects he can achieve using pan and ink are pretty breathtaking, and the harsh corners of his unorthodox panel layouts have you looking for subliminal "x-es" hidden everywhere, don't they? :) Love how the falling gent's hand and tie break the panel borders (er, sorry, falling gent!) and a black and white of Simone's is never -just- black and white, is it? The -incredible- dash of color on Psylocke's lips and eye is like nuclear fission on the bottom corner of that page - spectacular! Congrats, Jason! Great page!

Simone is a Master and quite comfortable with unconventional layouts.

Yessir, we know Bianchi for his covers and pin up-y stuff, and rightly so, but he's just as good on these interiors! Witness exhibit A. Unique panel layout, storytelling transitions, and of course the pure illustration. Congrats, man!

I'm so glad this landed in a happy home. It was loved, glad you see all I did. It was one of the more 'complete' pieces skill wise we had, moved it to CLink to help fund a DPS Wolvie from Evolutions. So awesome (and the lady had an 'issue' with me regarding it leaving LOL)... GREAT ADD!!!
