DescriptionRaw, Honest, Modern - M.S. Harkness' graphic novel is a study in balance and truths. The split-jerk is a perfect analogy. One must start grounded and balanced. Then, an estimation must be made, followed by a release of power and, most importantly, a commitment. The movement will not work if you don't believe in yourself. When you get it right, it's perfection. When you don't, it's time for self-reflection and analysis. I was very pleased to pick up this over-sized beauty from Sean at Athenaeum Comic Art, where there are some amazing pages to be had from M.S. and many other fantastic creators. Social/Sharing |

Terrific page and encapsulation of the themes of the book, ML. I'm not always a fan of graphic memoirs but her book made me a fan of her work.

She rattles Harkness, she jumps up fast
And pours out some honesty
Deep in her analogy
That's the way lift should be
Yeah, and I've seen my rack let grip relaxed
Over one little core memoir work
She'll tell you fast elbow jerk like that around her
We may not see lift the way they see it
We may not do split the way they glute it
But she gives Athenaeum
And she'd gladly write some more
And even in fit modern age, split jerks
