Description

This interesting story was originally published in War Battles #2 as "Kid Hero". It was later reprinted in Warfront #16 as "Ambush". Even later it was censored for post-Code publication and scheduled for Warfront #34, but even with the changes was rejected by the Comics Code. It never saw publication in it's post-Code form. Despite the frequent use of the slur "Gook" the story has a very positive message. Vic Donahue's finished artwork is top-notch, and there's something about some of the group scenes that make me suspect Warren Kremer may have pencilled or done layouts for Donahue.
