DescriptionA really nice page from Alpha Flight, which ended up sparking an other than nice battle. This was 100 years ago, and at this point I'm simply curious over the fate of this page. I bought it on eBay, for about a tenth of what it would fetch now, from seller Rider53 with the email address of Joybethl@aol.com (the 'aol' tells you this was old). He sent me an empty box, then tried to collect the insurance from FedEx for himself. Real class act. He did the same to 2 other people on eBay as well. Anyway, I never got the page, never got my money back, eBay was no help, and the Chicago Police suggested I take a baseball bat and settle it myself.I always wondered what happened to the page. Was it resold? Is it forever lost? Does Rider53 still have it? Did anyone get it? If you know anything to finish this story out for me, please share it. Social/Sharing |

I used to own a bunch of pages from this book - and got them all from the same source (not your guy). In fact, I passed on a few of them (foolishly). This page was never among the bunch though - I’ve never seen it before. I’m assuming he posted a scan of the b&w art in the auction?

He'd sold several pages over the years on eBay, but his last few deals he seems to have conned everyone before finally voluntarily getting off the site.

You run into it once and awhile - luckily people like that are very rare. Still, it will sting a bit here and there. Was it eBay you encountered him through?
