DescriptionIt wasn't easy to get, and I do believe it happened at the most advantageous moment when the price for a Ribic commission hadn't gone beyond my capabilities while his skill & execution were at a very strong level.I think that around that time, I was very into the Cosmic side of the MU, with the DnA-version of the Guardians, Annihilation and the like. The gigantic, cosmic scale of Galactus seemed like the thing to tap Esad for, and I hadn't gone full tilt into my Conan frenzy yet. The latter would still be a prime get, but it can't be denied that this is a fine-looking piece, and the little detail of the Surfer really puts a bow on the entire thing. Social/Sharing |

Oh yes! Esad does no wrong especially by Galactus and his silver herald! Congrats on a gemstone of a commission.

Very cool piece . Live the tiny Surfer in this . It really hits home how huge Galactus is .

For Kirby so loved the Marvel Universe, he gave us Galactus who shall live eternally. Esad Ribic is masterful and turns in an image that will last through time and space.

'...and it was good." Incredible commission, great color palette, and cosmic, classic subject matter - you definitely hit the "sweet spot", nout! The scale of the Surfer is awesome and fun here, but just as effective is how Esad uses a "non-standard" color (and the dominance of it) to take the viewer by surprise... The pile of purple on the page is breathtaking in and of itself (especially set off by the sickly, nebulae-ic yellow), and then add to it the white highlights of the Surfer, lightning, and Galactus's internal flaring of the Power Cosmic and you have yourself an explosion of hue and texture that results in a VERY special piece. Sincere congrats on this beauty!

I have seen quite a few Esad commissions but this one I keep coming back to. And when you want to revisit a piece a few times that is a sign that it's special. Something about the scale and the bright focus on this mouth and being a "devourer of planets" just really sings here. Congrats, it is a keeper.
