Description

10.5" tall image on 17" x 11" Bristol board. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe #4 Vol 1 Skurge the Executioner Illustration Original Art (Marvel, 1983). Keith Pollard and Joe Rubinstein. Signed by Joe Rubinstein just below the character.

The Asgardian named Skurge (and who appeared in Thor: Ragnarok) was better known as "The Executioner". This striking image of him was used in Marvel's encyclopedic book of characters however, spacing issues in the print layout forced the publication to eliminate him holding his famous double-bladed axe.
