Description

The 2011 Society of Illustrators Member's Open had the theme "Fear" that year. As soon as I saw the title Don Knotts face popped in my head and the reaction to "fear". Not a scene from the Ghost and Mr Chicken...well the hat and sweater was... but an all new image that I wanted viewers to think it was. The expression was from the Andy Griffith show Haunted House episode (as is the Old Man Rimshaw portrait in the background" Norman Rockwell's legs and my hands! I still smile eveytime I look at it.
It was also chosen for inclusion in Spectrum 19 and later included in the Spectrum show at the Society of Illustrators in New York.
