DescriptionOne of my favorite pieces in my collection. Done in 2004 and on 15x20 board. All my future and present commissions are judged against this. Everytime I look at this painting, I always wonder..."how does Travis do it?" Anyway, a dream commission for me and one that I cherish. Thanks Travis!!!! Social/Sharing |

That has got to be one of the best commissions I've ever seen. I think it's better than the Astonishing cover he did recently.

Forget the art (I know, it's pretty impossible to do at this level) just the story alone of how you initially approached Travis and all the entertaining "delays" along the way are certainly a part of why this may rank as the best Charest non published piece, period. Just sooo beyond what the rest of the herd is turning out!!!

Interesting how you held back on posting this even longer than the McFarlane or Mignola painting. Heck, I still have the original scan you sent me back in '04. Never thought I would see all of these marvelous pieces out in public, but I'm sure there are a large number of fans who are very grateful you decided to share them all. I think I did a better job of keeping your secret that YOU did. LOL! Anyway, congratulations on another instant classic and on ALL your gorgeous artwork. Your taste is truly impeccable!

Published or not, this is one of Travis' best work. I guess everyone has been breaking out the secret stash lately. Lol. Cheers! N.

There he goes again, doing his best to outshine his peers and put them to shame. Showoff. But enough about Joe, how 'bout that Travis Charest? That boy's got talent!

This piece defected Joe. See BIG ink drop on next to Cyclops left foot?! You have to give me this piece. Congrats Buddy :)

I like how the Sentinel is the main focus of the art and how its bright yellow eyes accentuate the mostly muted colors (I hope that doesn't make me sound like an interior decorator). And thanks for pulling this one out of the "secret stash" bin. It is much appreciated.

I desperately want to say something, anything at all, but I am too dumbfounded by the art. I think I need to go lie down for sometime and then come back to write something meaningful.....

Your collection is amazing.... Stellar McFarlane Spidey Cover, Gorgeous Lee/Williams X-men DPS, Mignola Wolverine painted cover, Bolland Killing Joke Batman/Joker/Gordon page... but despite those gems, and so many others in your collection, it is this piece that garners the top spot in my eyes... "How does Travis do it?" indeed!
