Maillot, Michel
I was born in 1956 and first discovered the US comic books in 1969 with French translations. I could find later in 1970 some US comic books in Paris from booksellers near the Seine. Unfortunately I only discovered the Brentanos American bookshop in the late 1971 and missed a lot before I bought every book I could. Fortunately at this time I could find a back issue comic shop in Belgium during my frequent travels for vacation. I finally also could buy some books in other Book shops in Paris like Editions Deesse. Then I came in the US in 1983 for the first time to meet Big John Buscema.
I was stupid enough to buy and sell more books than original art. However I kept all the treasures John gave to me and some others I could get through Ebay and a few here and there from US dealers.
Anyway with the today prices I do not have to worry about buying anything without my wife knowing it. I just cannot afford them !
Even if I do not yet have said my last words, I am afraid I will not speak too much in buying all these great pieces I would like to get, unless some god of good fortune...
Enjoy the few I still possess !
