Description

The Neverending Story (1984) poster comp by Rudy Obrero. The studio liked Obrero's proposal, but they thought it was a bit too dark for kids and asked him to come up with something that felt a bit more bright and adventurous... So the whole upper half of the art is a correction that Obrero painted on a transparency. Check the additional pics to see the original version below the overlay.

A favorite for many and very nostalgic for the kids matinee crowd of the early 80's. Kids fantasy genre was always dark in tone. For this movie with the Artax scene, but it was also lifted by the fantasy work that brought joy and triumph.
