Not this one in particular because it has been at Mike's place for the last 30 years... But you can easily find a lot of unused poster concept work from diffent artists that worked on BD Fox (the agency), and a lot of John Alvin's unused work for the poster has been published in his books (easy to find on google too if you're curious!). I think the final logo poster wasn't John's though; Bill Garland painted that one if my memory serves!
that one is from "airplane"! I'm not joking. And don't call me shirley! XD
Agree, this one has a sweet Eisner vibe!
LOL absolutely, he's forgiven! But they better get it right on the next one, it's their last chance! XD
Congrats, this is awesome! I don't know if there's any story behind this, but Indy's face is really similar to the one you can see on the cover art for Lucasfilm's "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis" game (horizontally flipped though). In any case, this is super awesome!
Thanks both, glad you like it! It was part of a trade deal with Anthony... I always looked at Moldoff's commissions with awe, but never had the chance to pick one up until now!
Thanks, Jason, glad you like it! Yeah, comments likes and views on CAF might be a little weird sometimes :) I loved this piece the moment I saw it, and buying it wasn't only satisfying because of the art itself, but also for knowing that the money was heading up to help the people of Umbria. It's always easier to spend the money if you know it helps a good 'cause too!
I love it too. And pages from this one are terribly hard to find... it took me forever to get this one! Glad you like it!
Oops :) I didn't know what this was originally for, and thought it looked like some sort of panel prelim or test (just couldn't identify the story!). Thanks for the info!
Hey, you finally found one! And it's a great page! Love the Indy panel. Congrats, Eurion!
Thanks! Yeah, it's definetly cool :)
Hey Eurion! Nice to hear from you! I'm sending you a pm with the whole story :)
Awesome work, Alex! What a find, after such a long time! :)
Thanks Jim & Andrew! (Andrew, you ST III title splash is definetly awesome! I think I won't ever look at it again, it's too painful XD)
Thanks, Eurion! Dammit, looks like we certainly got some common art interests :D
Thanks :) Yeah, not a lot of these on CAF. Which is weird, since I think they all look beautiful, and JP was a movie that marked many of us when we were kids. Probably one single collector owns most of the series pages and didn't post them on CAF. Hopefully more of them will pop up with time!
Nice. Love this quick headsketches, each one has it's own thing!
