DescriptionWho remembers Visionaries Knights of the Magical Light???I loved these dang toys man! They were like GI Joes but with armor and a cool futuristic, post-apocalyptic medieval backstory. Not to mention the awesome HOLOGRAMS that allowed each knight to magically change into a beast of some kind! Visionaries was like Mad-Max meets King Arthur, I mean one of the characters name was Merklyn LOL. A bit derivative perhaps, it was still a cool idea for the 80's toy/show/comic trifecta but due to the cost of the toys and probably the lack of syndication on tv, they never quite caught on and went the way of so many other cool IP's from the 70's and 80's with only one series of figures (a 2nd was advertised) and 13 cartoon episodes. Having looked high and low for ANY pages from the 6 issue Marvel miniseries, this is the lone example I have ever found. I love title pages from cartoons I watched as a kid, so this was a lovely find. I truly hope the rest is out there somewhere, if anyone has any idea where, please message me;) Thanks! Oh man, now I've got the show's theme song stuck in my head. It's not going away anytime soon.
In other words, congrats on an awesome piece!

"Visionaries...knights of the magical light!" :) Yup, I dug this show too as well as the toys - I remember I had Leoric, as well as a couple of the comics. Great title page here - big congrats! As you say, not easy finds!

Leoric was my first figure too! I still remember going to KB toys at the mall by our house with my mom and getting him, was probably '88-89! It was just him for the longest time, then I found a vintage toy store before there was ebay and bought a bunch of them, including the Dagger Assault vehicle that is featured in the background of this page. I opened all the packages like a kid (doh!) Still have it and the other figures somewhere at my parents house!

Ha ha, nice! I would have been 10 years old in the second half of '89, so that sounds about right! Loved that toy and the hologram chest and staff. I pleaded with mom and was able to get one other later, Sindar - I HAD to have a bad guy, too, right?! There's no way I wasn't opening those toys up, man. Lost cause! Fun times. That's cool you may still have them. I know mine are long gone! Congrats again on a killer throwback piece!

Wow, LOVED Visionaries as a kid! I found my Leoric figure from childhood not too long ago and am now obsessed with the franchise. :) That is a really awesome page! I love the Dagger Assault vehicle, I think it's angular shape really pops against the heavily inked explosion. Awesome, awesome stuff. Congrats! (Needless to say, if you ever want to part with this... ;) )

Big fan of the cartoon and toyline, and will always be at least a little salty they cancelled the comic halfway through a story, especially one that gave the female Visionaries their own powers!

I believe the title was picked up and ran for a bit longer in the UK, cant recall under what imprint. I've not seen any of them in person but check out ebay if you're interested.

Sadly, no. The UK only published up until the end of the US comics released (as a backup in the UK Transformers comic) and then stopped. Believe me, I HOPED that it would continue, but it didn't.
