Description

Something a little bit different - I've been wanting to do some stuff which isn't part of my All-Star Squadron continuation covers project, and it occurred to me that, if the Squadron *had* continued after Crisis, Roy Thomas might have revived a previous feature of the book --- so that gave me an opening.

So here's the first of an occasional series of new 'Golden Age Gallery' pin-ups, breaking out of my self-imposed restriction of only adapting the covers of comics Roy wrote. In this case, artist John Watson adapts page 9 of Avengers #97, to showcase the JSA (1942 vintage). Clearly Johnny Thunder has found himself in a bit of a spot, and the Thunderbolt has summoned his teammates to help him out....

I've got a few more of these in mind, based on pages or individual panels, so keep an eye out - they'll appear as and when I find a slot to get them commissioned. Hope you enjoy this one!
