Description

For me, Grummett was part of the 90s dream team right along with Jurgens/Breeding, Guice/Rodier and Hazlewood so I was glad to add this piece to my collection. Plus Im always hoping to have a main villain appear on the cover and checking Parasite off my list is relieving.

Usually we see villains getting the upper hand on the cover but when its the opposite it also tends to draw us to the comic. And thats what I really liked about the imagery on this one.

I always liked the electric blue costume, but not as a representation of Superman. I always wished this had been a completely different character, just so the costume could stick around for the long term. Grummett is career long favorite of mine, so it's always fun to see his work in other people's collections. Congratulations on this acquisition!

It's so amazing how similar our collecting tastes are. I was tempted by this one when it was on Mike Burkey's site, then it was sold, then it appeared in a ComicLink auction, but I didn't have the funds at the time to pull the trigger ... that was disappointing, but I'm happy to see it in your collection. Parasite is a great Superman villain, but for some reason his 1st appearance issue (Action Comics #340) hasn't taken off yet. Only a matter of time ...
