Description

As much as this piece is a homage to the comic artist I have most loved for 43+ years, it�s Bob Layton�s meticulous work creating this that has me smiling.

Bob left no stone unturned on this . . . literally (a high-res image without my mug is posted here as well). The detailed work is not only a testament to Bob's respect for George�s work, but to his own hall-of-fame skills as well.

For the canvas enlargement, I wanted to fill the width of the wall, so I scanned the backside of the original wraparound cover and did some Photoshop work. The titles did not blow up well, so I cloned them out from the background stars. The original is displayed in my home office.

Cancer sucks, indeed. It took my dad a year before it took George from us . . . and too many people we know and love. Pleased the proceeds of Bob's work here went to Tower Cancer Research in an effort to someday kick cancer's a$$.

Spencer Beck, thank you for this wonderful idea to fight cancer, and to Nick Barrucci for making this happen.

Bob, Thank you for your hard work on this and the charitable intent behind it. I am sure my dad thanks you too.

Layton is so talented. He really is gifted in recreating and interpreting other artwork. His color work is incredible.
