Description

John Romita Jr. has always been one of my favorite artists so I’m very happy to add a page to my collection. My grandmother bought me The Man Without Fear mini series when I was probably much too young and I’ve been hooked on his art ever since. A page from that incredible series would definitely be a grail for me but until I strike it rich I’m more than happy to have this late 90’s page with a couple storytelling notes that took me right back to Man Without Fear. I find the panel breaking particularly effective here especially with the middle panel on the last tier. I think it adds a lot of depth to the page without confusing any storytelling.

Every image is strong to show the gravity of the situation and Romita Jr. puts it together with such a flow and full design sense to not only have story flow, but allow what he chose to be the most important images stand out.

Love JRJR earlier style. A very strong page that captures a tense moment perfectly! Get all the tension in those smaller close up panels, then the violence spilled over in the bottom panels leaving you to wonder how Peter will get out of this one

DDMWF is one of my favorite comic series ever, and would love a page, but as you note - tough, and definitely not getting any easier! This is a sweet JRJR example, and definitely channels that DDMWF vibe! Congrats!

Very nice page by Romita jr!

Love the 3rd panel with Peter punching out a thug.

Ironically that same thug in the third panel looks similar to Daredevil

(in Romita's Man Without Fear storyline).

Cool-looking page, congrats!
